INAPLAS and PEFINDO Align for a Sustainable Industrial Future

Jakarta, December 10, 2025 – INAPLAS and PEFINDO Align for a Sustainable Industrial Future

In a proactive move to strengthen the resilience of the domestic petrochemical industry, INAPLAS (Indonesian Olefin, Aromatic, and Plastic Industry Association) and PEFINDO (PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia) held a collaborative session in December 2025 to discuss industry creditworthiness and the transition toward sustainable finance. The meeting focused on assessing the current business risks facing the plastics sector, particularly in light of global feedstock volatility and the ambitious Petrochemical Roadmap 2025–2045. By aligning industry data with PEFINDO’s rating expertise, the session aimed to provide a clearer financial outlook for member companies as they navigate a challenging global economy and push for increased domestic production capacity.

Beyond traditional credit assessments, the collaboration highlighted a significant shift toward Green Financing and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) integration. As PEFINDO continues to expand its role as a Green Bond External Reviewer, the discussions with INAPLAS executives explored how plastic and chemical manufacturers can access green capital to fund decarbonization and circular economy projects. The event concluded with a formal exchange of tokens, symbolizing a shared commitment to ensuring that Indonesia's manufacturing foundation remains both financially robust and environmentally responsible as it heads into 2026.

Yogyakarta, September 24, 2025 – INAPLAS, Highlights Petrochemical Challenges 2045 at IPF International Conference “Packaging in the Circular Economy” in Yogyakarta

INAPLAS reaffirmed its commitment to the transition toward a circular economy by actively participating in the International Conference “Packaging in the Circular Economy: Best Approach for Sustainable Business,” organized by the Indonesian Packaging Federation (IPF) on 24–25 September 2025 at The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center, Yogyakarta. The event brought together government, industry, academia, and international organizations to discuss regulations, the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), technological innovations in packaging waste management, and industry initiatives toward national circularity.

During the discussion sessions, INAPLAS representatives highlighted global challenges facing the petrochemical and plastics industry through 2045—including the need to increase capacity and efficiency, accelerate the energy transition, and strengthen materials engineering—as prerequisites for packaging designs that are easier to recycle and deliver higher economic value, aligned with Indonesia’s sustainability agenda and emission-reduction targets.

INAPLAS’s involvement in Yogyakarta also expanded upstream–downstream collaboration networks with packaging players, FMCG companies, and waste managers, while formulating follow-up actions such as strengthening design-for-circularity standards, improving recycling quality, and advancing research-to-application partnerships, as emphasized by IPF through official publications and the conference theme focused on best practices for sustainable business.
